Empowering Community Response to Gender-Based Violence in Ghanzi District

Men & Boys for Gender Equality (MBGE) is currently implementing the Empowering Community Response to Gender-Based Violence project in Kuke, D’kar, and Chobokwane. The initiative seeks to strengthen both institutional and community capacity to prevent and respond to gender-based violence (GBV), while promoting the integration of human rights principles into local prevention, protection, and response efforts.

A key component of the project is the #MenCare Fatherhood Campaign, which encourages greater male involvement in caregiving and challenges traditional gender norms. Through this campaign, men are engaged as active partners in building safer and more equitable communities.

Recently, MBGE conducted a training workshop for community mobilisers. These mobilisers will play a crucial role in delivering peer education, raising awareness about GBV and human rights, and linking community members to essential support services.

This project is proudly supported by the Embassy of Finland
